Palliative Care Service
- Palliative care is a holistic approach to meeting the unique needs of patients with advanced illnesses. Our Caregivers, experienced in Palliative Care, partner with physicians to help alleviate their physical, emotional, and spiritual problems which may surround their diagnosis. We aim to prevent and ease suffering, and to offer the best possible quality of life for those with life limiting conditions.
Our specialised non-medical Palliative Care service include:
- assessing the person's care needs
- planning how to look after pain and other symptoms in association with your loved ones medical team
- emotional support
- other services such as:
- looking after the home
- having someone come into the home so the person giving care can have a break
- washing, bathing
- equipment/supplies upkeep
- ensure that all parts of the care work together for the person
